This ministry brings the scriptures alive for members each Sunday. A signup sheet is available on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. The coordinator maintains the list and fills in or finds someone to read when no one has signed up. The coordinator prepares the readings by formatting the document for easy reading by using a larger font and spacing; then sends the readers a copy prior to Sunday. Assistance is available for anyone who is interested in doing this valuable ministry. If you would like to participate as a Lay Reader, contactJill Bossen 425-743-5457, firstname.lastname@example.org
Responsible for lighting and extinguishing altar candles, take attendance count, collect offering, direct congregation during communion and direct visitors to restrooms and nursery during services each Sunday on a rotating basis.

Assist in serving communion at services. This entails assisting the Pastors by serving wine and juice. When the Senior and Associate Pastors are present, four assistants are needed. If there is only one Pastor present five assistants are needed, with one assistant serving the bread. When serving bread, break off a small piece andhand to each person. As you hand each person the bread, say “the body of Christ, given for you”. The bread is then dipped by each member into either the wine or juice. When serving wine or juice, as each member dips their bread say “the blood of Christ, shed for you”. If only one Pastor is presiding the assistant giving the bread should then commune the Pastor. After all have communed, cover the trays and return to your seat. If you would like to serve as a communion assistant a sign-up sheet can be found on the bulletin board in the main church office.Ushers work closely with identifying communion assistants by looking to see who might have signed up. If not enough have signed up for a given Sunday, the usher asks members as they arrive for church if they would like to serve. If you have questions please contact Vickie Roberts, 425-870-2073 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
